A different system? I also service most other quality eBikes for routine mechanical work — brakes, gears, wheels and drivetrain. Send me a message with your bike and I’ll confirm I can help.
Motor rebuilds and overhauls, handled start to finish.
Servicing, diagnostics (Bosch and Shimano) and everyday work happen here on my bench. If the motor itself needs rebuilding, I remove it, send it to a specialist UK motor-rebuild centre for a full strip-down and rebuild, then refit and recommission it — so you deal with one person throughout.
Drive units covered - Bosch, Brose, Panasonic, Yamaha and more, with Bafang coming soon. Shimano STEPS motor work is handled through Shimano’s own authorised network — which I’m part of. Motor rebuilds and overhauls are priced on application.
Bosch Gen 4 reliability upgrade

Bosch Gen 4 motors are prone to water ingress and crankshaft wear, especially off-road. This upgrade swaps the weak plastic crankshaft bushes for self-lubricating bronze, adds a shaft seal and a double-sealed bearing, waterproofs the bearing areas and coats the circuit board — ending the failures these motors are known for. It changes durability, not power or speed, so it stays fully road-legal. Well worth it to get the drive unit running as good or better than when it left the factory.

eBike Service and Repair FAQs
Do I need to book an appointment?
Yes - contact us before dropping off to confirm I'm at the workshop. I'm often out on collections, deliveries or mobile work, so a quick call or message saves a wasted trip. If daytime drop-off doesn't work, we can arrange something - just ask.
Do you repair batteries and motors?
Motors: yes — I diagnose the fault, and for a full rebuild I remove the motor, send it to a specialist UK motor-rebuild centre, then refit and recommission it, managing the whole job for you. Batteries: I test them and can supply a replacement, but I don’t rebuild battery cells — that’s a safety and warranty matter for the manufacturer. Either way you get one honest diagnosis and one point of contact.
Do I have to have bought the bike from you?
No. I service eBikes bought anywhere — bike shop, online or second-hand..
Do you repair electrical faults on Amazon-type eBikes?
Honestly, no. I don't take on electrical or battery faults on cheap direct-order or unbranded eBikes — the sort sold on Amazon, eBay and similar. They often have no parts support, no proper documentation, and battery packs that can be a real fire risk to open, so it isn't work I'm insured or willing to do. I'm still happy to help with the mechanical side — brakes, gears and wheels — but for an electrical fault on one of these you're best going back to the seller or the battery maker

How long will it take?
It depends on the job. A standard service or repair is usually turned around within a few days — often quicker — and I'll give you a firm date when you book. A drive-unit overhaul takes longer and is less predictable: the motor is sent away to a specialist, so the timescale depends on their assessment, workload and parts availability, plus shipping each way. As a rough guide that's usually one to two weeks door to door, occasionally longer if parts are on back-order. I'll keep you posted with a realistic ETA once it's been looked at, rather than guess

Can you Collect and Return my eBike?
Yes - I can collect and return your eBike within a radius of 10 miles of CW8 2BJ. This service cost £30. My preference is for customers to drop off where possible.
